To block your number from appearing on the caller ID of the person you’re calling, you can use a feature called “caller ID blocking”. Here’s how to do it on some common types of phones:
For iPhone:
- Open the Settings app.
- Scroll down and select “Phone.”
- Select “Show My Caller ID.”
- Toggle the switch to the off position.
For Android:
- Open the Phone app.
- Tap the three-dot icon in the top-right corner and select “Settings.”
- Select “Calls.”
- Select “Additional settings.”
- Select “Caller ID.”
- Choose “Hide number” or “Hide my number” depending on your device.
For landline phones:
- Dial *67 before making a call.
- This will block your caller ID from appearing on the other person’s phone.
It’s important to note that while caller ID blocking can prevent your number from showing up on the receiver’s phone, it may not work in all situations. Some people have settings that automatically reject calls from unknown or blocked numbers, and emergency services may still be able to see your number in case of an emergency.
I do not have my cell phone anymore. I think that someone falsely used an old account of mine, or some how managed some free phones from a free phone I discarded long ago. I would like to block these numbers somehow. And also, I could not get through on the BOSS live chat to ask them if they can register or verify the BOSS revolution numbers from my receipts for the BR benefits. I an still waiting for an answer to my question. I author all of my own emails; and I have two people that reply for me with my request; and it is not just from reading my emails; they are my relatives.
